Description

The London Midland & Scottish Railway Company (LMS) was formed in 1923. It operated ferry services across the Irish Sea on routes between Holyhead and Dublin, and Heysham and Belfast.

This railway travel poster shows the Irish Mail boat entering Dublin Bay. It shows the ship passing the Kish Light ship which was stationed in Dublin Bay to guide shipping into Dublin. There is a possibility that the ship was called The Scottier.

Artist — Norman Wilkinson.
