Description
An exceptionally detailed poster showing the A4 Class steam locomotive crossing the world famous Forth Bridge in Scotland.
Specifically, it is number 60031, The Golden Plover, which was in service from 1937 to 1965. 35 were built in all, designed to pull the “Silver Jubilee” train.
Taking his work exceptionally seriously, Cuneo perched on a girder high above the track and withstood gales of over 50 mph to sketch this scene. He later recalled ‘Working conditions here were frankly terrifying.”
Artist — Terence Cuneo.
