Description
Pictured at London’s Croydon Airport is the Armstrong Whitworth Argosy Mk I, The City of Wellington, which operated for Imperial Airways between 1926 and 1935. The plane initially flew the London to Paris route. Only three of these particular three-engine aircraft were ever constructed.
The incongruously bright Mediterranean colors make this scene at Croydon look like a desert aerodrome in North Africa.
