Noted as the sparkling wine of kings, Veuve Amiot was actually born out of tragedy. In 1884, Elisa Amiot unexpectedly became a widow with four young children. As one of the leading products from her area was sparkling wine, she decided to go into the business herself, and almost instantly became a huge success.
