Description

Advertisement for the French wine aperitif BYRRH in the style of “Art Deco” in 1931.

By adding quinine tincture, which was widely used in the manufacture of medicines, to the recipe, the Pallade and Simon Violet brothers were able to call their aperitif a “health drink” and sell it in pharmacies. It was very popular, exported to other countries.

In 1935, BYRRH received the status of the main French wine aperitif. He became a symbol of his time and was often shown in films, including the most famous “American in Paris” (1951), “Wing or Leg” (1976, Louis de Phineas), “Jack of Diamonds” (1967), “Saving Private Ryan” (1998).

Advertising by this author is always elegant, sophisticated and with humor. It says: “Enjoying BYRRH means being fashionable to the end of your fingers.”
