Description

The poster is an allegory of Italian wines in the form of a woman emerging from the vines, wrapped in the Italian flag, and holding the logo of the distribution company «Dondena & Sons» (a star embedded in the letter D).

Artist — Aldo Mazza.

He was an Italian illustrator who worked within the same artistic movement as Marcello Dudovitch and Adolfo Hohenstein. Based mainly in Milan, Mazza began his career as a caricaturist but was working in poster design as early as 1900. His works can be found in Milan’s National Leonardo da Vinci Museum.
